Ernst Malmsten, a Prada-suited poetry critic, and his childhood friend Kajsa Leander, a former model, were going to revolutionise the world of retail with their online clothes shop boo.com. With brands like Nike, Fred Perry and DKNY, the website - which was funded by the investment banks Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan - would be an internet version of Harvey Nichols or Bloomingdale's.

But the two founders made one of the oldest mistakes in the book - they began to believe their own hype. Very soon they had a staff of 500 people cheap_Belts_shop_usa_uk_54 working in seven offices worldwide. Ernst and Kajsa travelled to business meetings on Concorde and threw lavish parties, all in an effort to maintain Boo's mantle as the world's hippest company.

'Their secret was to overwhelm employees, investors and journalists with wild evenings at glamorous locations, giving them a passport to outrageous people and places,' recalled Paul Kanareck, a former Boo executive. 'There wasn't a newspaper or magazine they wouldn't pose for.'

But, 18 months after its launch, having burned through pounds 90 million, Boo went into liquidation; a testimony to the ludicrous excesses of the first
             Louis Replica Watches
   dot.com boom.

Limited numbers of people wanted to buy clothes online, it transpired. The website, which featured a virtual shop assistant called Miss Boo, didn't work properly and the logistics of supplying items all over Europe had not been thought through.

Today, Ernst is rather less accommodating to journalists. He still describes himself as an entrepreneur, but when contacted by The Sunday Telegraph he refused to give any further details.
                       Best Rado Watches Online
'I'm quite elusive in my activities these days,' he said. Then there was the cardigown, a blend of cardigan and dressing gown. But in the knockoff High Quality Replica Handbags past couple of seasons, garments have emerged that sound more like exotic birds than wardrobe staples. We've seen jeggings (jeans/leggings), treggings (trousers/ leggings), the coatigan (coat/cardigan) and the jardigan (jacket/ caridigan). But in recent years, its numbers have dwindled because of attack by the fungus Discula destructiva, which causes cankers to grow on the tree and its leaves to fall off.

During a previous study, one of the authors had noticed that in three patches of forest that had been ravaged by fire, the trees had fared better.

To follow up on this suspicion, they went into Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which spans Tennessee and North Carolina, and compared patches of forest that had been burned with patches that had been fire-free for the last few decades.

Patches that had been burned twice had four times the number of dogwood stems as those that had been burned only once, and 20 times as many as those that had not been burned at all.

That difference is probably because fungus thrives in damp, shaded habitatsd. When fires burn through an area, they open the forest up to light and air, allowing the dogwood to thrive with less threat of infection.

The findings were published in a recent issue of the journal Forest Ecology and Management.

Ruth Yanai, an ecosystem Tiffany Earrings ecologist at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, said the finding provided hope that tweaking forest-management strategies could help save the tree and the other species that depend on it.

Other articles:
http://www.huanghun.com/plus/view.php?aid=40
http://www.sqrmyy.com/Peggy-Jo-Stewart-Derived-head.html
...

<trackback:ping>http://www.scsfks.com/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=297&key=b3b0e0f4</trackback:ping>

Rep. This year also cheap ed hardy marks the 20th anniversary of the Congressional Pig Book. The 2010 Congressional Pig Book documented 9,129 earmarks worth $16.5 billion and awarded special recognition to members of Congress who stick the taxpayers with the bill for particularly wasteful and sensational earmarks.

The Congressional Pig Book features 鈥淥inker Awards,鈥?which bestow special recognition on some members of Congress for their ability to secure extraordinarily wasteful earmarks. The 鈥淎n Earmark Grows in Brooklyn Award鈥?went to Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.) for her request of $400,000 for construction, renovation, and safety improvements at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

鈥淓veryone in Washington has promised a new era of transparency and restraint in earmarks, from President Obama to the leaders of both parties in Congress,鈥?said CAGW President Tom Schatz. 鈥淯nfortunately, these promises have been thrown out of the greenhouse window when a member is given the opportunity to fund a pork-barrel project. Congress behaves as if money grows on trees when it gives $400,000 to an organization with $49,147,172 in assets. The federal government is more than $12.7 trillion in debt, yet, sadly, this type of fiscal irresponsibility continues to be pervasive in Congress.鈥?

The Congressional Pig Book Summary profiles the most egregious examples of pork, breaking it down per capita by state and by member. All 9,129 projects are listed in a searchable database on CAGW鈥檚 website . Rep. Clarke鈥檚 $17.3 million in pork-barrel projects in the 2010 Pig Book includes:

Citizens Against Government Waste is a Tiffany Pendants nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government.

Other articles:
http://www.ootrain.com/Howard-to-conduct-clinic-at-Al.html
http://www.nealine.net/weblogs/mywatches/31528/SOLOMON+KANE+%2815%29+James+Purefo.html
...

<trackback:ping>http://www.scsfks.com/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=296&key=0044bc32</trackback:ping>

shaking like a belly miumiu ha

Shaking like a belly

Each week we send reporter Keith Fairbank to embark on a new challenge This week he gets all dressed up and has a go at belly dancing. replica gucci bag

LEAVING my socks, shoes and inhibitions at the door, I took a deep breath and prepared myself for 90 surreal minutes of belly dancing. Cheap Bracelet

The women of Seal, including village vicar Anne Le Bas, were already dressed to impress and wiggling their hips

Immediately, my enthusiastic tattooed instructor Chantel Phillips - who appeared on Britain's Got Talent this year - beckoned me inside and handed me a Tommy Cooper-style fez and a striking purple coin belt
Most Popular ArticlesAznar, Trimble to launch new pro-Israel project Too stressfulWiden it to help ease traffic jamWar of words on nukes continues
Tied around my waist but over my suit trousers, it looked as out of place as I did in the women-only group However, I could not resist a quick bum shake and to my delight it produced the same tinny sound as the women's beautiful dresses

Chantel remained at the front and so with terrifyingly little introduction, I attempted to follow her lead. He is going to spend this Christmas vacation venturing around the great state of Virginia.
                                 replica breitling watches
"The Twelve Days of Christmas in Virginia" is full of illustrations, history and interesting facts about the commonwealth. The author and illustrator are very familiar with Virginia. Author Sue Corbett and her family live in Newport News along the James River, while illustrator Henry Cole is a Virginia native, born and raised on a dairy farm.

Corbett uses the popular Christmas carol "The Twelve Days of Christmas" as the basis for the book. Though not necessarily related to Christmas, each verse contains something that is different and unique to Virginia. For example, a partridge in a pear tree replica tag heruer watches becomes a cardinal in a dogwood tree.

The journey begins in the Chesapeake Bay at First Landing State Park. They move around to Monticello, then mention some local goodies such as the Blue Ridge Mountains and The Crooked Road before heading to Mount Vernon.

"Christmas in Virginia" conveys the ways in which a child would view Virginia. Juxtaposed to the images and remixed verses are informative letters home from William. Although the letters are well written, it can come off a little like a grade-school history lesson taught by a 12-year-old, providing the option to use the book in the classroom. The reader will come away with some zany, interesting facts about the Old Dominion. links of london charms

ages 9-12THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS IN VIRGINIA By Sue Corbett; illustrated by Henry Cole. The building, part of an impressive Georgian terrace, consists of seven townhouses, which originally were family homes for around 100 years.

It was known as Whisky Row, because resident merchants could look out of their windows and see their ships arriving at Leith. In 1861, John Crabbie, best known for his firm's ginger wine, moved into one of the houses and lived there until his death.

It is no surprise then that the hotel would want to maximise its links with the industry.

The luxurious rooms, named after whiskies or distilleries, are individually designed and display historical details about the whiskies.

Me and my husband settled in The Balvenie for our twonight stay, which, according to the pictures and scripts on the walls, dates back to the late 1800s.
                   replica hublot watches
The spacious room, with open fire, included all the mod cons but the decor was in keeping with the original period character.

A glass bathroom in the corner with thin, white curtains looked exquisite and we felt it was a real feature of room - until we had to relieve ourselves. If the glass was frosted or the curtains a little less transparent, it would have been perfect.

After a brief rest, we set out to explore the city. As the hotel is set on a hill, there are wonderful views of sexy lingerie china Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth. Towards the back, there are private gardens which provide a hidden retreat for guests as well as a setting for weddings.

The Royal Terrace is a 10-minute walk from the centre but there are also regular buses. The main attractions, including Edinburgh Castle, The Royal Mile and Princes Street are easily accessible.

We returned to the hotel for a relaxing evening, a swim in the small pool and a stint in the steam room.

Next was dinner in the stylish Terrace Brasserie restaurant. My food was delicious but my husband pinched a few parsnips off my plate as he felt his dinner needed more filling out. The starter was too light for him, and even with the main course, he was unsatisfied.

But our desserts were mouth-watering and looked too pretty to eat.

We retired for a peaceful night, the hotel offering a tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We woke at leisure and enjoyed a hearty breakfast, my husband opting for vegetarian food, while I tucked into the full Scottish affair including the haggis.

Another day was spent enjoying the sights of Edinburgh before we made our way back home.

It was a lovely trip, both relaxing and educational. One thing's for sure - I now know more about whisky than anyone else in our household.

FACT FILE 107 bedrooms with a variety of styles, including two with glass bathrooms.

10 luxurious, newlyrefurbished rooms with ornate period features, full length windows and open fires.

Indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. Shenagh Gleeson travels the road with photographer Peter Drury.

   --------------------

LIFE ON NGATI MARU HIGHWAY, SH26 The name: Ngati Maru is the iwi of the area. Matatoki means small adze or meteorite and is named after small flakes of hard rock made into adzes; Puriri takes its name from the native hardwood tree; Hikutaia means the tail of the taia (eel) or headwaters of a river at neap tide. Best coffee: Matatoki Farm Cheese cafe serves a decent flat white and some lovely muffins, along with platters and pizzas.

Best find: Rugby on TV at the Puriri Hotel in mid-winter and $1 bags of mixed lollies at Hikutaia General Store. Next weekend: You could attend Anzac Day services on Sunday in either Thames (dawn parade 6am, public parade 10am) or Paeroa (parade 9am, service at the War Memorial Hall at 9.15am).

   --------------------

I t's less than 40km from Thames to Paeroa on State Highway 26 and for many travellers it's just the alternate route you take to the Coromandel Peninsula when the Kopu Bridge is jammed up.

But strung out along the pleasant drive beside the hills of the Coromandel Range are three distinct settlements, each with their own history, character and communities.

Once there were more settlements along the road - recently named the Ngati Maru Highway - but only the three have survived. Travelling from Thames, you strike Matatoki not far past the Kopu- Hikuai turn-off. And roughly opposite the Matatoki School, with its roll of 58 children, Iain Alexander plies his trade as a butcher in a little shop stocked with home-made products. sexy lingerie china

He's a local boy who joined his father in the shop in 1987. When he took over in 1996, he decided to do things differently. "When I first came here, it was a conventional butcher's shop and it just didn't work. There replica tag heruer watches had to be a reason for people to come out here, there had to be something special." He began making all his own products and developed a motto: "You have to taste to realise the difference".

Manuka-smoked bacon and his own ham were his first big successes and remain the main artery of the business but he now makes a wide range of products, including all sorts of sausages, salamis and smoked beef.

Iain's a lone operator and it's intense work but he enjoys it.

More people are coming to live in the area as farms along the hills are replaced by lifestyle blocks and residents commute as far as Auckland. There's also more passing traffic.

Next to his shop, the old dairy factory, once the heart of the Matatoki community, is again up for sale.

But further along the road another milk processor is very much alive and producing.

Kelvin Haigh founded Matatoki Farm Cheese 15 years ago. It's now owned by the Waitui Kuratau Trust, which farms at the southern end of Lake Taupo. The trust bought the factory to make sheep milk products but its main lines are still organic cows' milk products.

The factory has a string of awards for its excellent products and a small cabinet displays some of them, from the Cuisine gold- medal winning cummin gouda to the silver- medal sheep milk pecorino and bronze- medal sheep and cow's milk fetas.

Kelvin says the factory makes cheese the way our grandpar
Other articles:
http://www.masiad.com/NO-MONAN-FOR-MOURNE-BOSS.html
http://www.chinazgw.cn/Blog/View/?693
...

<trackback:ping>http://www.scsfks.com/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=291&key=72a5c5d6</trackback:ping>

Hat-trick for Kristian as Fran

Wales Under-20s.....................43 France Under-20s .....................8 OSPREYS wing Kristian Phillips scorched in for a memorable hat-trick of tries as Wales Under-20s celebrated one of their best results at this level to smash France at the Arms Park yesterday afternoon.

The senior squad member also created two more of Wales's six touchdowns as Phil Davies's men claimed their biggest win over Les Bleus at any age group.

"It was a fantastic result for us," said Phillips. "It was great to score three tries, but it was a case of being in the right place at the right time. We were under a lot of pressure at times, but from 1 to 22 the boys got in their faces and scrapped for everything."

It was an impressive effort from the home side, who had an outstanding skipper in flanker Josh Navidi and an abrasive tight- head in Scarlet Simon Gardiner, who typified Wales's refusal to take a backward step.
                replica tag heruer watches
But it will be Phillips who will grab all the headlines to provide further evidence of his blossoming talent.

Remarkably, Wales played most of the match with little possession or territory. Playing into a strong wind, the home side soaked up wave upon wave of pressure, particularly at scrum time, to lead 12- 3 at the break.

After just eight minutes Phillips showed why he is in the thoughts of national coach Warren Gatland by speeding away from three would-be tacklers to cross at the posts and then went on to have a major hand in the second.

A sublime offload out of the tackle from Phillips put Scarlets centre Scott Williams away 70 metres out. Williams still had plenty to do, but showing great pace and strength he replica hublot watches fended off two French defenders before diving in at the corner for a brilliant individual effort.

A mammoth penalty from fly-half Matthew Jarvis extended the lead 15 minutes after the break, before Phillips entered the fray again to create Wales's third try.

A touchline kick and chase from the Neath flyer had the French defence all at sea and even though he was tripped on the way to scoring, full-back Dan Fish followed up to touch down.

Phillips wasn't to be denied, though, and claimed his second after being gifted possession 30 metres out.

In an eventful finale, fellow wing James Loxton got into the act with an 80-metre interception, skipper Tanguy Molcard claimed a late consolation for France before man of the match Phillips claimed his hat-trick with the last move of the match.

   Wales: D.
