IT IS the phone that experts say could finally topple Apple's iPhone as the most desirable mobile.
The HD2, made by Taiwanese firm HTC with one of the biggest screens ever found on a phone, will go on sale later this month.
It has a huge 4.3-inch touchscreen display, and like Apple's Porcelain Necklace mobile can download new software easily.
The handset runs a customised version of Microsoft's Windows Mobile software.
"This is the first phone that matches the iPhone in terms of slickness, and I think a lot of people will choose it over the iPhone," said Will Findlater of Stuff magazine.
"It's fast and looks great, and for web browsing and watching video the big screen is superb. In fact, the only thing really holding the HD2 back is that T8 LED Tube T8-1500mm there aren't as many applications available as they are for the iPhone." HTC, which previously manufactured phones for other people, but recently started selling them under its own name, say the Sense software on the handset, is easier to use than Apple's.
